Lisa Hogben was born in Sydney, Australia. After graduating from UNSW COFA she immediately left to work in New York. As a freelance photojournalist Lisa’s work has been published internationally in a variety of newspapers and magazines such as the New York Times and TIME Magazine.


Her work has also been exhibited in Festival of the Photograph in Charlottesville, USA, in ‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ in Taipei in Taiwan, Index-G Gallery in Toronto, Reportage Photographic Festival and Art and About in Sydney as well as the prestigious Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles.


Recently her work was shown in a photography documentary festival in Korea. “Beautiful Music” her first full length feature documentary was screened at MUSE Gallery in Sydney in 2013. She is currently working on two projects about the after effects of war.
